Welcome to UConn’s 1st Annual Northeast Human Rights Film Festival!  

All events are held in the Konover Auditorium, Dodd Center for Human Rights - 405 Babbidge Rd unless otherwise indicated. Events are free and open to the public, but require ticket reservation

2023 NORTHEAST HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL SCHEDULE: 

Friday, May 19, 2023:

5:00 PM - Opening Reception! - Dodd Center Lounge
Join us for refreshments and celebrate the kick-off of NEHRFF!

6:00 PM - Opening Remarks and Film Screening (The Territory) followed by post-show panel with filmmakers and activists

9:00 PM - Opening Night Party - The Graduate Storrs Trophy Room - 855 Bolton Rd
Head over to the Graduate Storrs hotel bar to mix and mingle with fellow festival-goers. (Note, party not sponsored by NEHRFF)

 

Saturday, May 20, 2023:

10:00 AM - Workshop - "Innovating Impact: Films for Social Change" - Dodd Center Lounge

12:00 PM - Lunch Break

2:00 PM - Film Screening (Clarissa's Battle)

3:30 PM - Clarissa's Battle Impact Event

5:00 PM - Film Screening (A Reckoning in Boston)

6:45 PM - A Reckoning in Boston Encounters Dialogue and Dinner  - Dodd Center Lounge

 

Sunday, May 21, 2023:

10:00 AM - Filmmakers’ Brunch (by invitation only) - Dodd Center Lounge

1:00 PM - Film Screening (Midnight Traveler)

2:30 PM - Midnight Traveler Impact Event

4:00 PM - Multimedia puppetry performance (Azad) - Ballard Institute Museum of Puppetry, 1 Royce Circle #101B
**NOTE: The AZAD performance is recommended for mature audiences due to adult language, intense descriptions of violence/genocide, and sexual innuendo.

5:30 PM - Closing Reception - Zachs Family Fine Arts Administration Building – 1295 Storrs Rd
